Mazda: The Impossible Made Possible
A brand ad for Mazda South Africa
We were tasked with creating a brand campaign for Mazda South Africa that not only repositioned them in the minds of South Africans, but also celebrated their deep-rooted history.
To do this, we told the story of where Mazda came from - starting with the present-day brand that we know and then rewinding all the way to Hiroshima, just before the atomic bomb hit. We used a mix of shot footage, historic footage and recreated footage to achieve this.
The campaign line that we developed for the brand ('The impossible made possible') subsequently became the tag line for Mazda South Africa and has been used in all of their communication since.
I conceptualised, wrote and produced the campaign with a freelance Art Director, Jayson Dicks.
